Wren Kitchens

Conference & Golden Egg Awards

In December, White Event Production returned to the Connexin Live Arena in Hull to deliver Wren’s annual Sales and Marketing Conference with the Golden Egg Awards — the third year we have been trusted with this flagship internal event. The event combines a large-scale retail conference in the afternoon with a new product showcase ahead of a high-impact awards ceremony and celebration in the evening, all within the same space and on the same day, requiring a complex and precisely managed transformation.

Working closely with the Wren team and a number of specialist suppliers, the brief went far beyond a traditional conference setup. Alongside a premium stage and presentation environment, the event also featured a fully fitted Wren House showroom constructed within the arena itself. This impressive installation was concealed behind a full-width tab-track drape and revealed with a dramatic reveal to conclude the conference, creating a genuine “wow moment” for the audience and seamlessly linking business strategy with product innovation.

The project was delivered across a tightly scheduled five-day production window, comprising a two-day technical build, a full rehearsal day, the live event day, and a full de-rig. Careful coordination was required throughout, particularly as our production team worked in parallel with the house installation teams to ensure both elements came together perfectly for the reveal.

White delivered all technical production for the event, as well as supporting the client with full content management and pre-event visuals. The centrepiece of the stage design was a spectacular 18-metre-wide by 4-metre-high flown LED wall using our Absen 2.5mm LED panels, driven with 4K content via our graphics systems and managed through Barco E2 event processing for seamless switching and playback. This provided a bold, high-resolution canvas for conference presentations, video content, and awards graphics. Our notes system was used for presenter support as well as working closely with the Wren team to streamline a workflow for creating such widescreen content.

Audio for the arena was delivered using a flown d&b V-Series PA system, controlled from a Yamaha DM7 digital console, ensuring clear and consistent coverage for both spoken word and high-energy evening entertainment. IMAG coverage was provided using multiple Blackmagic cameras including a wireless link for key moments  all mixed live to ensure every seat in the arena had a great view of the action on stage.

The stage itself measured an impressive 64ft wide by 20ft deep and featured bespoke LED-illuminated treads and LED edge detailing, giving the set a premium, broadcast-quality finish. Lighting design played a huge role in transforming the space from day to night, with over 100 intelligent lighting fixtures and a full RGB starcloth drape used to completely reshape the atmosphere of the arena between conference and awards.

The evening entertainment featured a full live band and DJ package, turning the arena into a high-energy awards and party environment within a very short turnaround window — a transformation that relied on detailed pre-production planning and tightly choreographed show operations.

This event is a great example of White’s ability to deliver complex, multi-phase live events at scale, combining technical excellence, creative staging, with rock-solid content and production management. We are proud to continue our ongoing partnership with Wren and are looking forward to starting with the changes planned for 2026.
